My name is Kusum Jatav. I am 30
years old and live in Ratnapur village District Bhopal. I have been associated
with Solidaridad for a long time and initially participated in their online
nutrition sessions. As a mother of two daughters, I always wanted to ensure
they had a healthy childhood.
When my younger daughter was two
years old, she was underweighted, she was only 8.2 kg at the age of 02 years and
I was very worried. During a home visit, Radha, a Nutrition Worker from Good
Farming- Good Food, noticed my concern and counselled me about balanced
nutrition. She encouraged me to include soy in my daughter’s meals to improve
her health. I took her advice seriously and started making changes to my
child’s diet.
A few months later, when my
daughter was about two and a half years old, Radha visited again. This time,
she provided a diet chart and vegetable seeds, explaining how to maintain a
proper feeding schedule and healthy eating habits. I followed the schedule
strictly, ensuring my daughter ate nutritious meals on time. Slowly, I started
seeing positive changes—her weight improved, and she became healthier. She has
gained 2.5 kg weight.
On another visit, Radha confirmed my daughter's progress. I felt an immense sense of relief and happiness knowing she had reached a normal weight. Looking back, I realize how important timely guidance and proper nutrition are for a child's health. My journey has not only changed my daughter’s life but also inspired other mothers in my community to focus on nutrition.
